Our home was delivered on time! I have had many, many friends build and have heard nightmare stories about their process. I have been even more grateful over the years that we chose Sherburne-Marrs. The biggest complaint I hear from friends is their home build has taken longer than expected. I actually have not met ANYONE who had a house built in the expected timeline. They are then moving multiple times, trying to find short-term rentals that are inconvenient and expensive, or trying to work around the sale of their previous home. I was extremely grateful that Sherburne-Marrs delivers their homes on time, every time. Their plan for our home was well planned out before pressing "go". We had a few kinks to work out along the way, however, they are meticulous about their spreadsheet of expected timeline and contractors, and they stayed true to the timeline. They use high quality products, and high quality contractors. Their interior designer helped us pick our tiles, patterns, flooring, counter tops, lights fixtures to match our vibe to the size room and area most aesthetically pleasing. There was not one millimeter of error in our tile placement. I've never seen a house with the level of care with every single tile strategically placed. Cabinets were also meticulously chosen and built. It has been the unexpected, small things I appreciate about our home. There are no crooked lines in our cabinets, tile, or paint. We sold our house, packed up, and moved in on the exact date they projected.

We moved to Boise from living in Monterey CA for over four decades to enjoy our daughter’s family with four grandkids. A year and a half before the move we selected Sherburne-Marrs for our build based on several visits to their open houses and discussions with Jared and Lane. Selecting them to build our final home proved to be the best decision we made concerning the move. It was our first time to work a design from the ground up.

We decided to be in Boise Hills near downtown in the Somerset development, and Jared with Lane patiently walked us through a lot purchase for our build in an area new to them for building. They were key in resolving some critical engineering issues with the lot - issues we would have been unaware of had we purchased without their expertise and help in resolving.

Along with that process, we were well underway with the design, based on an existing model. The flexibility Jared offered was amazing. He patiently facilitated our own ideas for the design, while providing crucial suggestions for improvement. We had several iterative and significant design changes, requiring plans to be redrawn each time, and were most pleased these were included in his services. We had a say in the critical electrical, HVAC, and plumbing walk-throughs, working out solutions with Jared and team before they became expensive issues later. AND, even during the height of the Covid pandemic, he was still 6 months from start to finish.

Jared is to be commended for maintaining a solid business model through a smaller size company that enables him to build beautiful houses and satisfy the customer by being personally involved. Sherburne-Marrs has been in business long enough to have developed solid, long-term subcontractors who also reflect his emphasis on excellence and customer satisfaction. Kudos to all who helped - Jared, Rick, Cody, Desiree, Lane, and Amy.

We have had several follow-ups, both within the 1-year warranty period and after, that the team helped resolve with the same attention to detail given before acceptance.

We hired Jared and his phenomenal team to build our home in Eagle, Idaho while we were living in Los Angeles. Building a home when you live in the same city is an enormous task. When you live out of state, it can be overwhelming.

I cannot say enough good things about our experience with the fantastic team at Sherburne-Marrs. Over the past 3 years, we have worked with 5 different builders in the treasure valley. All were good, but Jared and his team were phenomenal. We walked through one of Jared’s model homes in our neighborhood and absolutely fell in love with the design. Our situation was unique in the sense that the entire process was done remotely, as our family was living out of state during the entire design process and home build. We didn't have the luxury of being on site every day or every week. In fact, we didn't physically lay eyes on our home until a couple weeks before our move in date. We chose Sherburne-Marrs after we spoke with Jared during a Parade Of Homes event. We fell in love with one of their designs and they were able to make slight changes to make it work for us. They made the process of changing the style to fit exactly what we wanted very easy. Desiree worked with us answering questions that came up and letting us know exactly where we stood budget wise. Rick did an outstanding job overseeing everything. He kept the house right on time, and made sure all the sub-contractors' work was perfect.

Everything was finished exactly as they said it would be. Amy came in with design options that fit perfectly with our design style. If we sent pictures of things we liked, she worked to find the items for us. She made the process of picking everything out very easy, even long distance! With the help of our real estate agent we were able to tour the 2017 Parade Home built by Sherburne-Marrs in Legacy. We liked the house very much and their representative told us we could customize the floor plan to meet our needs (mainly not a two story).

We had heard such good reviews about how they build their homes, we bought a building site right away. They were very easy to work with, especially since we were out of state so much. We had never built a home, but with their excellent supervision and advice we got it done.

Amy was excellent with all design elements. Desiree quickly responded to all my questions. If she didn’t know the answer she referred us to someone who did. She usually knew the answer. It is very important to Jared that everything is just right and what we wanted. Rick oversees the build and makes sure it is done the way Jared wants (and us).

My husband and I decided to move to Eagle, Idaho over a year ago; we looked for several months at new homes. Each time we looked we seemed to be drawn to Sherburne-Marrs homes. We loved the workmanship, design, quality, and their eye for detail of their homes as compared to others on the market. That's when we decided they were the builders for us. We want you to know of our appreciation for the work you did for us in 2012. We have had the experience of having two previous new homes and were skeptical of this venture again. When we came upon a Sherburne-Marrs home in another development, we were attracted to the style, appearance, and quality of the home. Our realtor did an excellent job of showing us several homes on the market as we were not sure if we really wanted to build another home because of the hassle and dealings with the general contractor, and the subs.

When we discovered Jared Sherburne, we told him how much we liked his product, but we did not want to get bogged down in haggling with him or any other contractor should he build our next home. We signed the papers, but remained a little skeptic because we had never worked with anyone who had produced what they said they would; in the time-line they said; and have the quality standard throughout the project. Through all of our meetings with them, Jared Sherburne and Mike Marrs exhibited extreme patience, with the greatest respect.

We added another element to their project because we could only make limited site visits. On one particular visit we were asked how we liked the house so far, we were disappointed in the placement of the windows, but said we could live with it. Jared and Mike studied out what could be done to fix the situation, and before we left, the window framing was changed, and work continued. That was typical of their responsiveness and rarely seen in custom home building.

We could not believe our final walk-through; the house was beautiful, and everything was perfect. Every detail was exactly what we had agreed upon. It is an energy-efficient, custom home with excellent finishing details. We inspected the work of other builders in the area, and other regions of the West, but Sherburne-Marrs has what we wanted; specialized design features, accommodation of our finishing preferences, attention to detail and quality, and respect for our agent.

In August of 2002, BB and I had the pleasure of meeting Rocky Ridge’s team at one of their model homes in the Boise area. “Dear Jared, We’ve been meaning to do this for months now but we just wanted to tell you “thank you” again for building us such a fabulous house. We’ve been here for 2 ½ years now and we still love it! There isn’t anything that drives us nuts and when our 3,600 sq. ft. house has the same air conditioning bill as my sister-in-laws 1,500 sq. ft. home I know that you and your
subs did a great job. Since we moved into our home, several of our friends have built homes and their experiences with other builders have been nightmarish! Mike and I look at each other and say “we are so glad we went with Rocky Ridge Homes” – especially when we see the homes on our street slowly fall apart and get leaky windows and roofs – our neighbors complain about the quality and workmanship constantly. Thanks so much for making the experience of building our home so wonderful. The fact that we were working with the Rocky Ridge team from about 1,000 miles away made this a more incredible experience. We came to Rocky Ridge with a floor plan we liked and your team worked with our requested changes easily. The house has turned out to be everything that we hoped for and more. We really appreciated the weekly photo updates of the progress. We were able to spot things that needed to be addressed, and it also gave you the ability to better explain what processes were happening at the time. If we were to do it all over again we would pick Rocky Ridge Homes in a second. We have spoken highly of Rocky Ridge to those that are interested in building a home and will continue to do so. Our only regret in the whole thing is that it has taken us this long to write to you about it!

Also impressive was the excellent character of the team of subcontractors that you and Debbie selected for clients to work with. I must admit that when my husband suggested building a house I was a little reluctant. I had heard from numerous people how difficult and challenging their building process had been. Then we met with Rocky Ridge Homes. Their work ethic, attention to detail, skill in managing subcontractors, and quality of building materials was obvious from our first meeting. We have received so many compliments on the uniqueness, design, colors, and use of windows in our home. Our home is exactly the way we wanted and we love it! We would highly recommend working with Rocky Ridge Homes and their team. They did an outstanding job!

To whom it may concern, I was asked to write a brief testimonial on behalf of Jared Sherburne who performed a complete kitchen remodel for me some years back. It was a very extensive remodel, and with 8 children we could not afford to have the kitchen out of service for very long. We had the kitchen completely gutted, remodeled the ceiling and lighting, added hardwood flooring, installed some custom made cabinetry, all new appliances, and all necessary plumbing and wiring upgrades. We met with his cabinet people and made all the color selections. After he started the remodel, we went on a vacation to minimize the inconvenience to our family. I felt very comfortable leaving my home in the care of Jared as well as the remodel. After the three week time period he told me it would take, we had an absolutely beautiful new kitchen. We could not believe that Jared was able to complete such a large task in such a short time and still deliver a quality job.

This was a great experience. I had heard many horror stories about remodel work, but this was not one of those. Jared finished within the time allowed, within the budget, and left our home neat and clean. We would highly recommend Jared to anyone considering any remodeling work.

We were so impressed that when we later decided to move our family to a new community we had Jared build us a brand new custom home that we are still enjoying today.
